THIS TOUR IS A MUST!
“My wife and I were lucky enough to go out for a day with Captain Jason and we had a blast. He was not only offering tours for a great price, but was extremely cordial and knowledgeable, and maintained the boat very well. We met Jason and went for a short snorkel (he knew a lot of the pretty spots and we got to see quite a bit more marine life than our previous snorkel tour on the island), followed by a little fishing trip where we caught quite a few different fish. He provided us lunch and a variety of drinks, and was always a huge help whether baiting a hook, pointing out a lobster while snorkeling, taking photos, and just being personable overall. I'm not bashing the other tours we went on, they were nice as well, but this was a breath of fresh air being that it was more private and exclusive and offered at a great price.
Of all the tours we went on during our stay in Antigua, this was hands down, without a doubt the highlight of the trip."
HIGHLIGHT OF OUR TRIP!
“We went on a tour with Jason and it was the absolute highlight of our honeymoon. We didn’t want to do a larger boat with other people, and wanted to make sure we had the opportunity to see a little more of the island and do some fishing.
First off, Jason’s boat is beautiful and well maintained. Jason is an expert on the water and we always felt very safe and secure. He was an excellent tour guide on our safari tour of the barrier reef - pointing out schools and fish and spotting things we would never see!
We opted to do a lot of fishing with Jason as it’s something we love to do. He had great equipment and knew all of the good spots. We caught plenty of different types of fish.
Jason was a great historian of the island and community and taught us a lot about Antigua and Barbuda. We wish him the best in his business and certainly would recommend his tour to anyone that asked."
THE BEST BOAT TOUR ON THE ISLAND!
“We have just returned home from visiting Antigua for the first time and whilst out there had the pleasure of meeting Captain Jason and his amazing boat.
Our hotel offered the standard large group boat trips that wasn't really up our street so after speaking to the hotel reception they booked us a tour with Jason and his Sugar Island tours. A short cab ride to Jolly Harbour and we were greeted by Jason on the white sand beach with his beautiful boat.
We started off with a gentle tour round the shore line finding out facts about the island and then dropped anchor for some truly amazingly snorkeling. What was really nice was that we were lead by Jason attracting the fish, finding hidden treasurers. The amazing snorkles, goggles and life jackets provided by Jason really make bobbing about in the sea effortless.
After a few beers a lovely lunch prepared by our captain and a walk on a secluded beach we moved onto some fishing in the shallows and caught an amazing looking fish. With that success in the bag we moved out to the deeper water and managed to bag a barracuda!! Jason's excitement at the catch made it all the more enjoyable.
We all had such a great trip we haven't stopped telling our friends and family, if you go anywhere near Antigua it is a total must even if it is the only excursion you do you won't need to do anything else. If we are ever lucky enough to visit the island again it will be the first thing we do and to BBQ a fish next time would be amazing. It's worth every penny and the memories will last a lifetime! Kudos to Captain Jason and First Mate Nathan!!! Sugar Island Tours is the best choice for anyone who wants to enjoy a personalized adventure on the seas surrounding Antigua. From snorkeling on Cade's Reef to fishing for big or small game to a beautiful sunset tour, you can enjoy it all with Sugar Island Tours. The tour of Cade's Reef was the best snorkeling trip we have had at that location. Nathan guided us through the reef while remaining constantly aware of our pace and allowing us to pause to appreciate the beauty of the fish and coral. Captain Jason then took us out for some relaxing yet active bottom fishing. We were provided with a lunch that rivaled the best restaurants, featuring finely seasoned chicken and shrimp served with an exceptional sweet and spicy sauce and finished with fresh cut fruits. Next, we took to the seas to troll for bigger fish, netting a nice barracuda. Safety, comfort level of the guests, and all while adhering to Antigua's Covid Protocols (Sugar Island Tours is Sun Sea Safe Certified), the fun and excitement of the tour are what will shape memories. Captain Jason and Nathan were professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, making our tour the highlight of our 6th visit to Antigua. All equipment from the boat to the fishing tackle was in excellent shape and obviously well cared for. Captain Jason operated the boat expertly, constantly ensured our comfort and well-being, and maintained a fun atmosphere. He also took the time to check on us after we returned to our accommodations to ensure we had a safe trip. Sugar Island Tours is absolutely the best tour company in Antigua.
